Question by Dwight Guy: Who is bothered that Yahoo is sponsored by a company marketing poison as a sweetener?
The company “Equal”, has recently become a prominent sponsor on Yahoo Answers. It has long been documented that their product, Aspartame, also marketed as NutraSweet, is harmful to people.
The FDA denied approval for it to be marketed, but due to the power of the Monsanto company, which makes it (they also make Roundup and many other poisons) the FDA’s decision was nullified.
More info can be found at http://vodpod.com/watch/1483785-aspartame-sweet-misery-a-poisoned-world-12954.

Once you watch this video, you will never want another diet coke, that’s for sure.

Best answer:

Answer by Chris
Well, aspartame isn’t really that poisonous. Health hippies are just getting all excited about it because a couple lower mammals died from it. Blood – brain barriers in humans are much better than in mice and rats – our brains can prevent the aspartame from entering. In such tiny amounts, it doesn’t hurt anybody. You could equally say that canned tuna manufacturers are selling poison – mercury content is quite high in that, and mercury is very poisonous.

Edit: I spent ages looking all this up a while ago. I’ve read info from FDA and hippie sites. Overall, the FDA’s argument is a bit more agreeable with scientific fact than the hippie one.

Question by ghostchaser.christy: Should I be watching for Russians at my door?
My G.Grandfather was taken as a political prisoner of war in WW2, my family escaped when they came through for the roundup of the families by living in the forest, years later they would hear their names being called out to come pick up my G.Grandfather. In general those that went to pick up family members were never heard of again.Fast forward to the late ’70s ,my family are now US citizens w/new names and the Russians sent my Grandmother a letter asking her to come”home” to sign a land deed and she can have her family property back. Out of fear she didn’t. I am now searching trying to find out more info on my G.Grandfather and my computer has been destroyed by a virus no one around here has seen, and I’ve googled my name and found it on Russian websites.
I realize this sounds paranoid- I agree w/you 100% But consider how I grew up and the precautions my family had to make just to be here, it would make anyone a little nervous.

In the formula above, I’m allowing the data to me over only if it’s greater than “0″. I also need to round up the data if it’s less than .49 because I can not have any zeros come across. I’d like to figure out a way to ROUNDUP .49 and less, and simply round anything over .5.

Any suggestions?

K

Best answer:

Answer by expletive_xom
what did you want to round anything below .5 too?
i think you can just use the max() formula…in other word you are setting a minimum amount to your cell, by forcing anything above 0 to show the minimum you decide on.

hope this helps

if AZ31 = .49
if you want to round it to 1
copy&paste this formula

=IF(‘Enter Info On This Tab’!$ AZ31>0,MAX(1,’Enter Info On This Tab’!$ AZ31),”")

problem is this will round stuff like .50 and .70 to 1

if you want .49 to round to .50

=IF(‘Enter Info On This Tab’!$ AZ31>0,MAX(0.5,’Enter Info On This Tab’!$ AZ31),”")

this will round anything below .49 to equal .50…so even 1 cent will show as 50 cents

Our lawn was serviced by Scott’s and the weed killer was added to our flower beds and part of the vegetable garden, which I’m planning on seeding within a few weeks. Everything I’ve read says that most of the weed killers (except the non-selective ones like Roundup) are safe, but I can’t find any info on this particular product. The service company says it’ll be fine, but I wanted a few other opinions.

Best answer:

Answer by Julie
yes, it will. but it needs to be applied to the plant. Chances are good that if Scott’s applied it, they were careful not to get it on your garden plants.

Be careful, though if you compost your grass clippings.

i live in spokane wa and im looking to move to eaither pullmen, billings or roundup. i would like some updated info on all of the cities/towns. i used to live in roundup about 8yrs ago and go do my shopping in billings. both great places. but i might be bringing somebody who is in a wheelchair so i need to know how i can get him around the areas.

whats the crime like and how much does it cost on average to go food shopping, rent and elcectrity. right now we need a change and i DONT want to bring a million u-haul trucks with because i think thats just annoying to you guys and me lol. i guess im asking where in billings is good for a person in a wheelchair to get around and do all the things he needs to do as well as have a good time. i need to know where to get a place because if he was left alone i need to know that he will be safe in that place.

im also looking for a few other smaller towns to look into. he wants to go and look at the views and rivers, lakes and im more into the history of the area and culture and i love the history behind Red Lodge but i fear that he wont be able to handle the snow. can anyone help me out with that part

oh yeah and what is your average pay rate.

Question by Xeroshima: Where can i find a list of companies who sell food that is made with genetically engineered produce?
When i use the term ‘genetically engineered’ I don’t mean simple crossbreeding or artificial selection. These are integral parts of the agricultural process. I mean crops that are genetically homogeneous, or that come from Roundup Ready Technology (basically anything that comes from Monsanto). I wish to boycott these products but it’s pretty difficult when nobody is required to disclose the origins of their ingredients. All I’ve found thus far is that Kellogg’s uses Roundup Ready produce. Any other info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by john h
It would be a much simpler list to find the ones that don’t. Almost any company that uses corn, wheat, soybeans, most of the processed oils, or any of their byproducts will probably have some GM products in them. These grains are not separated in the grain elevators, so any grain purchased through them will be mixed with GM grains. Any processor that don’t use GM products would have to go to a lot of trouble and expense to obtain them, so you can bet that they will make sure that you know about it, and pay for it.
