Question by Dwight Guy: Who is bothered that Yahoo is sponsored by a company marketing poison as a sweetener?
The company “Equal”, has recently become a prominent sponsor on Yahoo Answers. It has long been documented that their product, Aspartame, also marketed as NutraSweet, is harmful to people.
The FDA denied approval for it to be marketed, but due to the power of the Monsanto company, which makes it (they also make Roundup and many other poisons) the FDA’s decision was nullified.

Well, aspartame isn’t really that poisonous. Health hippies are just getting all excited about it because a couple lower mammals died from it. Blood – brain barriers in humans are much better than in mice and rats – our brains can prevent the aspartame from entering. In such tiny amounts, it doesn’t hurt anybody. You could equally say that canned tuna manufacturers are selling poison – mercury content is quite high in that, and mercury is very poisonous.
Edit: I spent ages looking all this up a while ago. I’ve read info from FDA and hippie sites. Overall, the FDA’s argument is a bit more agreeable with scientific fact than the hippie one.
